01/About
Who builds Foxlume
One developer, a few sharp tools.
Foxlume is where Vu Nguyen builds developer tools for macOS. It starts with Foxlume Query, a database client, and grows one careful tool at a time.

02/Why it exists
Small, native, careful
Tools should be small, native and careful.
Many developer tools now ship a whole browser to draw a window. Foxlume tools are written in Swift with AppKit and SwiftUI, so they start like Mac apps, use the Mac's menus and shortcuts, and keep their passwords in the Keychain.
Tools that touch your data should also slow you down at the right moment. That is why Foxlume Query asks before a DELETE without WHERE, and before any write on a connection you labelled Production.
The name is a fox and lume, light: a small animal that sees well in the dark.
03/The work so far
Counted in the repository
What is already built.
About 32,000 lines of Swift
In Foxlume Query, with wire-protocol drivers for PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB and Redis written in-house.
317 automated tests
In the repository, run in continuous integration on macOS 15.
Zero telemetry
By design. The app talks only to the databases you point it at.
04/Honest status
What ships, and when
Every feature carries its status.
Foxlume pages say what works today, what is in beta and what is only a plan. Numbers come with where they were counted. Nothing is called finished before it is.
Foxlume Query is free software under the GNU AGPL v3 or later. The source is on GitHub, and bug reports are very welcome.
05/Start
Foxlume Query
Start with Foxlume Query.
A native macOS database client for seven databases that asks before it touches production.
